Buyer’s question · Pricing in Morocco

Why is software cheaper in Morocco?

The short answer is regional pricing: vendors charge different amounts in different markets because a Moroccan wage is not an American one. That explains a genuine discount — it does not explain every discount, and the gap between those two is what this page is about.

The short answer in one paragraph

Software is often cheaper in Morocco for one main reason: the companies that make it set prices per country or per region, and Morocco sits in a lower tier than Western Europe or North America. The same product, the same subscription, a different number on the page depending on the billing address the vendor sees. This is ordinary commercial practice, published openly by most large vendors, and it is not a favour to anyone.

The second reason is what happens to licences after they are issued. A licence bought in one market can end up being sold in another, and a licence issued for education, for volume deployment, or inside a promotion can be resold outside the conditions it was issued under. That is where prices start to look strange.

ROSH™ Company Labs sits in this landscape as an independent reseller. We are not an authorised reseller, a partner or an agent of any vendor, and we claim no special arrangement with anybody. What follows is the honest version of why the numbers differ — including the point where a low price stops being good news.

The numbers we can actually state

Here are the only prices we will state, because they are ours. Each is a single payment in dirham for the term named, and the monthly figure is just that total divided by the months.

  • Adobe Creative Cloud — 400 MAD for 4 months, which is 400 ÷ 4 = 100 MAD a month.
  • Microsoft 365 — 100 MAD for 3 months, about 33 MAD a month.
  • CapCut Pro — 700 MAD for 1 year, roughly 58 MAD a month.
  • Google AI Pro — 250 MAD for 1 year, about 21 MAD a month.
  • Apple Music — 50 MAD for 3 months, near 17 MAD a month.
  • Bitdefender Total Security — 399 MAD for 1 year on 5 devices, about 80 MAD per device for the year.

We will not print a vendor’s own price here. Those change, and you are better served seeing them yourself. Open the vendor’s site with a Moroccan address, note the figure, then load the same page through a French or American store. Two things usually shift: the currency, and the amount. That comparison is the whole subject of this page, done with real numbers instead of ours.

Why vendors price by region

Software costs almost nothing to copy. The expensive part is writing it once. So a vendor’s pricing question is not what this copy costs to make, it is what this market will pay before people stop buying. Where wages are lower, the price that earns the most is lower too: at the American number most people simply do not buy, or they go looking for a cracked installer, and the vendor earns nothing either way.

That is the mechanism. Purchasing power parity is the polite name for it. Around it sit smaller forces pushing the same direction: competition from free tools, currency movement between the dirham and the dollar, taxes that differ from one country to the next, student pricing aimed at people who will pay as professionals later, and a strategic wish to occupy a market early rather than squeeze it now.

None of this is charity and none of it is secret. Vendors publish regional price lists and they defend them: billing addresses are checked, payment methods are matched to countries, and keys are often locked to the region they were sold in. The discount is designed. It is also bounded.

When a low price should worry you

Regional pricing explains a gap. It does not explain a chasm. If a price sits far below what the vendor itself charges in Morocco, the discount is coming from somewhere other than regional pricing, and it is fair to ask where. The usual answers:

  • a key bought in a cheaper country and resold outside its region;
  • a volume or education licence sold to someone it was never issued for;
  • an account shared between strangers;
  • a key that was never valid at all.

Any of those can be revoked later by the vendor, and you carry that risk, not the seller. So ask what exactly you are buying — your own account, a key, or access to somebody else’s login — and what happens if it stops working next month. A seller who answers plainly is worth more than one who answers cheaply.

Be equally hard on us. ROSH™ Company Labs is one person in Morocco, independent and affiliated with no vendor. It is not a formally registered company and issues no tax invoice. If you need a document for accounting, an expense claim, procurement or an audit, we are the wrong choice — buy from the vendor or from a local authorised distributor. Purchases here are at your own risk.

What to check before you pay

Do the comparison before you spend anything.

  1. Check the vendor’s Moroccan price for the exact plan you want, not a neighbouring one — annual against monthly, personal against business, one app against the full suite. Half the price differences people bring us turn out to be a comparison between two different products.
  2. Decide what the licence has to survive. A student portfolio and a company laptop under an IT policy are not the same purchase.
  3. If the software will sit inside a business that can be audited, buy through a channel that hands you paperwork. If it is your own machine and your own work, the calculation is simpler and the price weighs more.

If you land on us after that, message ROSH™ Company Labs on WhatsApp and say what you actually need and for how long. You will get a straight answer, including when the answer is that you should buy it somewhere else. For anything not on the list above it is contact for pricing — the figure depends on the product and the term, and we do not invent numbers.

Questions buyers actually ask

Is it legal to buy software at a Moroccan price?

Buying a licence sold for the Moroccan market, at the price the vendor set for that market, is ordinary commerce. The complications start with keys issued for another region or another purpose, because vendor terms usually restrict where a licence may go and to whom. Ask any seller which of the two you are being offered, and read the vendor’s own terms if the point matters to you.

Can I use a VPN to pay a cheaper country’s price?

Usually not, and it can cost you the licence. Vendors match the billing address, the card’s issuing country and sometimes the IP before charging, and an account flagged for mismatched details can be suspended or re-priced. It also puts you outside terms you agreed to. If you want a lower price, look for the one the vendor actually offers in Morocco.

How cheap is too cheap?

There is no single number, but the test is simple: compare against the vendor’s own Moroccan price for the same plan and the same term. A discount you can explain — a shorter term, a promotion, a regional list price — is a different thing from one nobody can account for. If a seller cannot say where the gap comes from, treat the saving as the price of the risk.

Do I get a tax invoice from ROSH™ Company Labs?

No. ROSH™ Company Labs is not a formally registered company and issues no tax invoice or fiscal document of any kind. That is fine for a personal purchase and a real problem for a business that has to justify the expense to an accountant or an auditor. If you need the paperwork, buy from the vendor or from a local authorised distributor instead.

Is ROSH™ Company Labs an official Adobe or Microsoft reseller?

No. ROSH™ Company Labs is independent, affiliated with no vendor, and holds no partner, agent or certification status with any of the companies whose products it resells. Product names belong to their owners and are used here only to describe what is being sold. Any seller in Morocco claiming an official status deserves to be asked to prove it.

Will Moroccan prices stay this low?

Nobody can promise that. Regional price lists are reviewed by vendors, they move with exchange rates and local demand, and a country can be moved up a tier as its market grows. What you pay today buys the term you paid for, not a future rate. If a longer term at today’s price suits you better, say so before ordering rather than after.
