How-to guide · Microsoft 365

How to activate Microsoft 365 — on your own account, step by step

The short answer first: the subscription is activated on your own Microsoft account, you sign in inside Word or Excel, and you confirm it yourself at account.microsoft.com/services. Nothing is shared with anyone, and no step is hidden from you.

What you need before you start — and what to settle first

Activation takes minutes. Almost everything that makes it fail happens before it, so settle these points first. You need a personal Microsoft account — the ordinary kind, built on an Outlook, Gmail or any other address — and one you genuinely control: you know the password, and the recovery email or phone number still reaches you.

It cannot be a work or school account. Those are run by an administrator at a company or a university, and a personal subscription cannot be attached to them. If you sign in through a page carrying your employer’s or your faculty’s logo, that is the managed kind, and it is the single most common reason an activation stalls.

Have ready:

  • The exact email address of that account, spelled correctly.
  • A computer with Office installed, or ready to install, and a stable connection.
  • WhatsApp, which is where the order is placed and where support happens afterwards.
  • 100 MAD for three months — divide 100 by three and it is roughly 33 MAD a month.

Two facts to weigh before you pay. ROSH™ Company Labs is independent and affiliated with nobody — not Microsoft, not any other vendor. It is not a formally registered company and issues no tax invoice, so if your accountant needs a facture, buy through a channel that can produce one. The purchase is at your own risk.

The activation steps, in order — nine of them, none technical

Nine steps, in order. Nothing on the list requires technical skill; only the second one needs real attention.

  1. Open WhatsApp from any button on the site and say what you want: Microsoft 365, 100 MAD for three months, and how many devices you plan to install on.
  2. Send the exact email address of the Microsoft account the subscription should go on, then read it back once. It goes where you say it goes, and a single wrong letter sends it to an account you cannot reach.
  3. Ask your questions before paying, not after: what exactly is applied, the date the term ends, what renewal costs, and confirm that no tax invoice is issued.
  4. Pay the 100 MAD.
  5. Wait for the message confirming the subscription is on your account. In most cases this happens in the same session.
  6. Open Word or Excel on your computer, go to File, then Account, and sign in with that Microsoft account.
  7. Check that the warning about an unlicensed product is gone and that your own address appears under the account name.
  8. Go to account.microsoft.com/services in a browser, sign in with the same account, and read the subscription and its end date with your own eyes.
  9. Write that end date in your calendar, then turn on two-step verification for the account.

If any step asks for more than you are willing to give, stop and say so in the chat. Before payment you have every option; after it you have fewer.

How to confirm it worked — on Microsoft’s own pages

The proof does not live on this site or in a WhatsApp message. It lives on Microsoft’s own pages, and you should read it there yourself. Go to account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the account the subscription was applied to. Under Services & subscriptions, Microsoft 365 should be listed, with the date the term ends.

Then check the second place. In Word or Excel, open File, then Account. The product information panel should name Microsoft 365 and show your own email address as the account it belongs to. The warning bar about an unlicensed product should be gone, and the apps should edit and save normally rather than sit in read-only mode.

Two things you should never see: an address that is not yours under File, Account, or an empty services page after you were told activation was done. The first means the apps are signed into someone else’s account. The second usually means a typo sent the subscription to a different address.

Nothing here is shared. The subscription sits on your account, the password stays yours, and no one else signs in to use it. If you want to be thorough, review the recent sign-in activity on your Microsoft security page and confirm every entry is you.

What goes wrong, and what to do — the common cases

Most failures are dull and fixable. Work through them in this order.

  • The apps still say unlicensed: close every Office program, including anything still running in the system tray, then reopen Word. If it persists, sign out under File, Account, and sign back in with the right address.
  • Signed into the wrong account: many people have an old Hotmail and a newer address. Sign out of all of them, then sign in with the one the subscription went to.
  • The services page shows nothing: the subscription is on a different email. Go back to the same WhatsApp thread with a screenshot rather than buying a second time.
  • The verification code never arrives: that is between you and Microsoft. Use its account recovery, since nobody else can retrieve your password for you.
  • A work or school account was used: it cannot take a personal subscription. Use or create a personal account and ask for the subscription to be moved.

What support can and cannot do. ROSH™ Company Labs will work through a problem with you in the same chat, which is the practical value of buying from a person rather than a marketplace listing. What it cannot do is recover a Microsoft password, unlock an account Microsoft has suspended, or promise a refund. No guarantee is offered, and the purchase stays at your own risk.

What happens after three months — and how renewal works

The term is three months and it ends on the date shown at account.microsoft.com/services. Nothing renews automatically. There is no card on file and no silent charge, which is convenient and also means remembering is entirely your job. Set a reminder a week before the date.

If the term lapses, your files are not deleted and not held hostage. Documents stay yours. What changes is access: the desktop apps drop into a limited, largely read-only state, and OneDrive stops accepting new files above the free tier. So before the date, either renew or move anything large onto a drive you own.

Renewing is a message on the same WhatsApp thread. Because the subscription is attached to your own account, renewal lands in the same place: nothing to migrate, no files to move, no second account to manage. The listed price today is 100 MAD for three months; confirm the price that applies at the time rather than assuming it is unchanged.

One repeat, because it matters at renewal too. ROSH™ Company Labs is not a Microsoft partner, reseller or agent, is not a formally registered company, and issues no tax invoice. If a business is paying for the next term and needs paperwork, that is the moment to move to a channel that provides it.

Questions people ask about activation

Which Microsoft account does the subscription go on?

The one you name. You send the exact email address of your own personal Microsoft account, and the subscription is applied there. Nothing is shared with other buyers, and no one else signs in to use it. You can confirm this yourself at account.microsoft.com/services, where the subscription and its end date appear inside your own account.

Do I have to hand over my password?

Ask before you pay exactly what the activation needs from you, not after. The account remains yours: the password, the recovery email and the phone number stay under your control, and you can change the password afterwards whenever you like. If any request feels wrong, stop and say so in the chat instead of continuing.

Can I activate it on my work or university account?

No. Work and school accounts are managed by an administrator at the organisation, and a personal Microsoft 365 subscription cannot be attached to them. Create an ordinary personal Microsoft account with an address you own and use that one. It is better practice anyway: a subscription placed on a company account disappears the day you leave.

How do I know the activation is real?

Two checks, both on Microsoft’s side. At account.microsoft.com/services, signed into your account, Microsoft 365 appears with the date the term ends. In Word, under File then Account, the product information names Microsoft 365 and shows your own address. If either one disagrees, something went to the wrong address and it is worth sorting out immediately.

Is ROSH™ Company Labs a Microsoft partner, and will I get a facture?

No to both, and both are worth knowing before you pay. ROSH™ Company Labs is independent and affiliated with no vendor. It is not a formally registered company and issues no tax invoice, so a purchase here cannot be put through business accounting as a documented expense. A company that needs paperwork should buy from a channel that issues it.

What happens at the end of the three months?

Access changes; your files do not disappear. Documents stay yours, but the desktop apps move into a limited, largely read-only state, and OneDrive stops taking new files above the free tier. Nothing renews on its own, so message on WhatsApp before the end date to arrange the next term and confirm the price that applies then.
