Which apps Boris FX Suite works inside

Boris FX Suite is not a single program. It is a set of plug-ins and standalone applications, and each product has its own host list. Across the Suite, Boris FX names After Effects, Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve, Nuke, Flame, VEGAS Pro, Final Cut Pro and Photoshop. Sapphire runs in After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve, Fusion Studio, Nuke, Flame and VEGAS Pro. Continuum runs in After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Apple Motion, Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve, Nuke and VEGAS Pro. Sapphire is not on Boris FX's list for Final Cut Pro, so if you edit in Final Cut Pro, plan your effects work around Continuum.

Mocha Pro works as a plug-in in After Effects, Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, Nuke, Fusion, Flame, VEGAS Pro and Silhouette, and as a standalone application; DaVinci Resolve is listed on Boris FX's Mocha specs page. Silhouette runs on its own or inside After Effects, Premiere Pro, Nuke, Resolve, Fusion and Flame. Optics plugs into Photoshop and Lightroom, and since Optics 2026.5 also into Apple Photos, Capture One and Affinity Photo. CrumplePop reaches editors in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer as well as audio apps such as Pro Tools and Audition. Operating systems matter as much as hosts. Boris FX says the Suite runs on macOS and Windows, with Linux for some products only. Sapphire, Mocha Pro, Silhouette and SynthEyes list Linux support; Continuum and Optics do not; and Sequoia, Samplitude and Music Studio are Windows-only. Hardware needs differ too: Silhouette's requirements, for example, ask for at least 4 GB of graphics memory, and 8 GB for its machine-learning nodes. Boris FX publishes requirements per product and per version, so check the current ones on borisfx.com for the tools you plan to use, especially if you work on a laptop.

Why a genuine licence beats cracked VFX plug-ins

Cracked copies of VFX plug-ins circulate on download sites and in file-sharing groups. A patched installer comes from someone you cannot identify and runs on the same computer that holds your projects and client files, which makes it a convenient way to deliver malware. Modified plug-ins can also destabilise the host application, and when a render crashes the night before a deadline, there is nobody to ask. For freelancers and agencies, the client is the bigger risk: work delivered with unlicensed software is work you cannot defend if the question is ever raised.

Who Boris FX Suite is for in Morocco

The Suite makes the most sense when tracking, roto, clean-up or finishing is part of work that clients pay for. If you cut adverts and corporate films in Casablanca, Sapphire and Continuum cover transitions, lens flares, light effects and stylised looks. Motion designers in Rabat get Particle Illusion for particles in titles and lower thirds, and Continuum's Title Studio for 2D and 3D titles. Compositors can remove objects, insert screens and stabilise shots in Mocha Pro, rotoscope and paint in Silhouette, and solve camera moves in SynthEyes. Colourists and finishing editors get Continuum's Film Stocks and DeNoise ML. YouTubers and podcasters in Marrakech or Agadir can clean up noisy, windy or echoey recordings with CrumplePop, and photographers in Tangier or Fès can add lens effects and film looks to stills with Optics. For a small agency that handles all of this in-house, it means one Suite instead of shopping for each tool separately.

It is not for everyone, and it is better to know that before you pay. If you cut simple edits and never track, key or remove anything, you may not need a plug-in suite at all. What the Boris FX Suite licence does not include

Knowing the limits avoids surprises. The licence covers Boris FX Suite for one year, and renewal is manual. It does not include the host software: After Effects, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro and Nuke are separate products, and the plug-ins need a supported host installed. It does not include iZotope products or VEGAS Pro either; Boris FX owns both, but its Suite page does not list them among the included products. It does not include a tax invoice. And it does not promise a number of computers: Boris FX's own documentation describes a standard node-locked licence as active on one computer at a time and moved by deactivating it first, so ask on WhatsApp before you order if you work on more than one machine.
