How to activate LinkedIn Premium — the steps, the checks, the cancel switch

The short version: pick a tier, activate it on the LinkedIn account you already have, then confirm it on LinkedIn’s own subscriptions screen. The part people miss is auto-renew, which is on by default when a card is attached.

What you need before you start — an account, a tier, one decision

Premium is added to the LinkedIn account you already have. Nothing is recreated or migrated: your connections, messages and history stay where they are.

Have three things ready. The account first — signed in, in your own name, and not under restriction, because a subscription never lifts a restriction. Then the tier, decided before you order. Premium Career is the job-seeker plan: applicant insights, salary ranges, interview preparation. Premium Business is the general professional plan, with wider search and company insights. Sales Navigator and Recruiter Lite are separate products with their own prices, and buying Business when you meant Sales Navigator is the costliest common mistake. Then a desktop browser. Subscribing inside the phone app is possible, but Apple or Google bills you then, and cancelling later works only inside their store.

Two things before money moves. LinkedIn plans are contact for pricing: message on WhatsApp and the amount in dirhams is confirmed before you commit to anything. And ROSH™ Company Labs is an independent Moroccan operation, not a LinkedIn partner, agent or authorised reseller.

Say this plainly if the purchase is for work. ROSH™ Company Labs is not a formally registered company and issues no tax invoice. If an accountant needs a document, subscribe with LinkedIn directly. Purchases here are at your own risk.

The steps, in order — from a decision to a live subscription

The whole path, from a decision to a subscription you can read in LinkedIn’s own settings.

  1. Sign in to linkedin.com in a desktop browser and check the name in the top right. People with two accounts activate the wrong one.
  2. Fix the tier in writing before you order: Premium Career, Premium Business, or a different product entirely.
  3. Message ROSH™ Company Labs on WhatsApp with the tier and the term you want. The amount in dirhams is confirmed in that conversation, since LinkedIn plans are contact for pricing.
  4. Ask exactly what will happen on your account and what you will be asked for. If any part stays unclear, stop and subscribe with LinkedIn directly.
  5. Pay by the local method agreed, then wait for confirmation.
  6. Sign out of LinkedIn and back in, desktop first, phone app second. Subscription state is cached, and a stale session explains most complaints that nothing changed.
  7. Open Settings & Privacy, then Account preferences, then Subscriptions & payments. Read the plan name and the date shown beside it.
  8. Screenshot that screen. It is the only record of what you bought.
  9. Settle renewal the same day. The last section explains which case you are in.

None of this touches your posts, your connections or your messages. Premium switches features on; it does not rebuild the account.

What it looks like when it worked — checks you make on LinkedIn itself

A message saying it is done proves nothing. Confirm it on LinkedIn, in four places.

The screen that settles the question is Subscriptions & payments, under Account preferences. The active plan appears there by name, with a date next to it. If that line is present you are subscribed, whatever the rest of the interface looks like.

Then three softer signs. A small gold Premium badge appears beside your name, on your profile and in search results; it is optional, a visibility setting hides it, and every feature keeps working without it. The My Premium page, reached from the Me menu, lists what your tier includes and shows your InMail balance — the allowance depends on the tier, and unused credits carry forward for a few months rather than forever. And LinkedIn Learning opens with no paywall, which is the fastest single test.

On Premium Career you should also see where you rank among applicants on a posting, salary ranges and interview preparation. On Premium Business, expect wider search and company insights instead.

Keep the screenshot. Since no tax invoice is issued, that screen with the plan name and the date is the only trace you will have.

What goes wrong, and how to fix it — five failures that cover almost everything

Five situations account for nearly every case, and only one of them genuinely needs help.

Nothing looks different. Sign out and back in on the desktop, then force-close the phone app and reopen it. The app caches subscription state, sometimes for several minutes. Check the subscriptions screen before concluding anything.

You are paying twice. A free month still running alongside a new plan shows as two active lines. Cancel the one you do not want; the other keeps its date.

You cannot cancel on the website. That means the subscription was taken inside the app, so Apple or Google is billing you and cancellation happens only in their store. LinkedIn cannot do it for you.

The features are the wrong ones. Premium Business is not Sales Navigator, and a premium company page is not personal Premium. Switching mid-term changes the billing and sometimes restarts the period.

The account is restricted. A plan does not lift a restriction, and paying does not speed up an appeal. Settle that with LinkedIn first, then subscribe.

A Moroccan card refused for a recurring international charge is ordinary, not a fault in your account. If the plan still is not live after a proper sign-out, describe the exact screen on WhatsApp.

When the term ends — what stops, what stays, what to do next

Ask one question on activation day: is a card of mine attached to this subscription?

If yes, auto-renew is on by default, and it renews at the standard rate rather than any introductory one. Turn it off immediately if you want a fixed-length subscription. Cancelling stops the next charge without shortening what you already paid for, and you keep every feature until the date on the screen. Do it in Settings & Privacy, under Account preferences, in Subscriptions & payments. If Apple or Google took the payment, do it in their store instead.

If no card of yours is attached, nothing renews on its own. The plan simply ends on the date shown, and a new term means a new conversation on WhatsApp at whatever the price is then. Set a reminder three days before the date, so the ending is a choice rather than a surprise.

At expiry the badge disappears, unused InMail credits are lost, the ninety-day list of profile viewers shrinks back, and LinkedIn Learning locks. Your profile, connections, messages and any Learning certificate already added to the profile stay exactly as they are. Nothing is deleted.

For a job search, that is the honest pattern: buy a defined stretch, use it hard, let it end.

Frequently asked questions

Does Premium change how my profile looks to other people?

Only by adding a small gold badge next to your name, on your profile and in search results. Everything else is identical: same headline, same photo, same posts, same URL. The badge is optional. A visibility setting hides it, and every Premium feature keeps working while it is hidden, so nobody has to know what you pay for.

Do I need to activate it again on my phone?

No. The subscription belongs to the account, not to the device, so signing in on the app is enough. If the app still looks free, force-close it and reopen it, or sign out and back in, because it caches subscription state. Where you buy matters more than where you use it, since that decides who bills you and where you cancel.

How do I turn off auto-renew?

On the website, open Settings and Privacy, then Account preferences, then Subscriptions and payments, and cancel the plan there. Cancelling stops only the next charge; the features stay until the date shown, so there is no reason to delay it. If Apple or Google is billing you, LinkedIn cannot cancel it and you must do it in their store.

Premium Career or Premium Business?

Career if you are applying for jobs: it gives applicant ranking, salary ranges and interview preparation. Business if you are established and want reach, with wider search and company insights. Both include LinkedIn Learning and a monthly InMail allowance. If your real need is lead lists and saved searches, neither one is right, and Sales Navigator is a separate order.

What does it cost through ROSH™ Company Labs, and will I get an invoice?

LinkedIn plans are contact for pricing. Message on WhatsApp with the tier you want and the amount in dirhams is confirmed before you pay anything. There is no invoice: ROSH™ Company Labs is not a formally registered company and issues no tax invoice, and it is not a LinkedIn partner or agent. If your employer needs a document, subscribe with LinkedIn directly.

What happens to my LinkedIn Learning courses when Premium ends?

Access to the library stops on the last day of the term. Certificates you already earned and added to your profile stay there permanently, and your course history remains, but the videos lock. If a course matters to you, finish it before the date shown on the subscriptions screen and add the certificate to your profile while you still can.
