How to activate Bitdefender Total Security — from the code to five protected devices

The short version: redeem your code in your own Bitdefender Central account, then install from that same dashboard on up to five devices. Remove any other antivirus first. The first machine takes about ten minutes; the rest are quicker.

What you need before you start — and the one thing to remove

Gather four things: the activation code, an email address you control, administrator access on each machine, and about ten minutes for the first device. The rest go faster.

  • The activation code from your WhatsApp thread. You will enter it once, in Bitdefender Central, and never again.
  • An email address that is yours, not a shared family one. It becomes your Central login and your only route back in if you lose access.
  • An administrator account on each Windows PC or Mac. A standard user cannot install security software.
  • A decision about which five devices you want covered, made before you start rather than after.

And one thing to remove: any other antivirus already installed. Two real-time engines on the same machine interfere with each other, and the usual result is an install that fails or a computer that crawls. Windows Defender is the exception — it stands down on its own once Bitdefender registers, so leave it alone.

Said plainly: ROSH™ Company Labs is independent and affiliated with nobody — not a Bitdefender partner, reseller or agent. It is also not a registered company, so no tax invoice is issued. If you are buying for a business and your accountant needs paperwork, that matters more than the price. Purchases are at your own risk.

The steps, in order — code first, devices second

Do the whole sequence on the device you use most, then repeat only the install part on the others.

  1. Uninstall any other antivirus, then restart. Use that vendor’s own removal tool where one exists — the ordinary uninstaller often leaves drivers behind that block the next install.
  2. Open central.bitdefender.com in a browser and create an account with your email address, or sign in if you already have one.
  3. Go to My Subscriptions and choose to activate with a code. Paste the code exactly, with no trailing space.
  4. Check that Bitdefender Total Security now appears as active, with an expiry date twelve months out.
  5. Open My Devices, choose to install protection, and install on the device in front of you. On Windows and macOS, approve the prompts and restart when asked.
  6. For a phone or tablet, send the install link from Central, or install Bitdefender Mobile Security from Google Play or the App Store and sign in with the same account.
  7. On macOS, grant Full Disk Access and approve the system extension in Settings. On Android, accept the accessibility permission that web protection asks for.
  8. Repeat for the remaining devices, five in total.

Nobody needs your Central password for any of this, us included. If anyone asks for it, stop.

How to confirm it worked — on Bitdefender’s own dashboard

Do not take anyone’s word for it, ours included. Bitdefender Central is the vendor’s own site, and it is the only proof that counts.

Sign in at central.bitdefender.com and look at two screens. My Subscriptions should list Total Security as active, with an expiry date and the number of device slots used out of five. My Devices should show a tile for every machine you installed on, each reporting as protected rather than at risk.

Then open the app itself on one device. The Windows dashboard says the machine is protected and shows the days remaining on the subscription; macOS, Android and iOS present the same information in their own layouts. Run one quick scan so you have watched it work instead of assuming it.

A note on iOS: it is the most limited of the four apps, because Apple does not allow a traditional on-device virus scan. It does web protection, data breach alerts and VPN, and that is where it stops. The limit is the platform, not the licence you bought.

What goes wrong, and how to fix it — four failures cover almost all of it

Most activation problems come down to four cases, and none of them require reinstalling Windows.

  • The code is refused. Almost always a typo, a trailing space, or a character misread from a screenshot. Type it by hand. If it is still refused, send us the exact wording of the error message.
  • The install fails or the machine slows down. An old antivirus is still there. Run the previous vendor’s removal tool, restart, then install again.
  • You cannot find the licence. You are signed in to a second account created with a different email address. The licence exists only in the account where the code was redeemed.
  • Maximum number of devices reached. All five slots are taken, often by a phone you replaced. Open My Devices, delete the old tile, and the slot frees up immediately.

If the shield stays red on a Mac, the system extension was never approved; on Android, the accessibility permission was declined. Both are granted again in the operating system settings, not inside the app.

When the twelve months end — what expires, and what stays

Assume the year starts the day the code is redeemed in Central, not the day you finish installing on the fifth device. You can delay the installs, but the clock has already started.

On the expiry date the subscription stops, updates stop with it, and the suite drops to a limited state where the interface remains and the real protection does not. Nothing is charged automatically on our side, because there is no card stored anywhere and no subscription running quietly in the background. Bitdefender may email you its own renewal offers at its own price; that is between you and the vendor.

To continue with us, order another term on WhatsApp — Bitdefender Total Security is 399 MAD for 1 year covering 5 devices, which is under 80 MAD per device for twelve months — then redeem the new code in the same Central account. Your devices stay registered and nothing needs reinstalling. Redeem it a day or two before expiry rather than after, because remaining time is generally added to the running subscription.

Questions people ask before activating

Can I activate without creating a Bitdefender Central account?

No. The code has to be redeemed inside an account, and that account is where the licence lives for the whole year. Creating one is free and takes a minute with any email address. Use your own address, not a shared family inbox and not a seller’s, because whoever controls that inbox can reset the password.

Do I need to uninstall Windows Defender first?

No. Defender stands down by itself once Bitdefender registers as the active antivirus, and Windows handles that handover without you. Any third-party antivirus is different: remove it before installing, using that vendor’s own removal tool where one exists, because leftover drivers are the most common cause of an install that fails halfway.

Can the five devices be a mix of Windows, Mac, Android and iPhone?

Yes, in any combination. Two Windows laptops, a MacBook, an Android phone and an iPhone is a normal setup. Each install takes one of the five slots and all of them report into the same Central dashboard. When you replace a phone, delete its tile in My Devices first and the slot frees up immediately at no extra cost.

The activation code was refused. What do I do?

Type it by hand instead of pasting, and check for a space at the end. Confirm you are signed in to the right account. If it still fails, send us the exact wording of the error on WhatsApp. The message distinguishes a mistyped code from one that has already been redeemed, and the fix is different for each.

Is ROSH™ Company Labs an official Bitdefender partner, and do I get an invoice?

No to both. ROSH™ Company Labs is independent and affiliated with no vendor — not a partner, not an authorised reseller, not an agent, not certified anything. It is not a formally registered company either, so no tax invoice is issued and an expense claim will have no paperwork behind it. What you get is a genuine licence, help through activation, and a purchase made at your own risk.

What happens on the day it expires?

The subscription ends and updates stop. Your devices stay listed in Central and the apps stay installed, but protection drops to a limited state. Nothing renews automatically from us, because no card is stored anywhere. To continue, order another term and redeem the new code in the same account — no reinstalling, no re-adding devices.

Not sure you need to buy? — ask first

We sell genuine licences with real activation. We are an independent reseller, not the vendor, and if a free option covers what you need we will say so.
