Software for content creators in Morocco what to buy first, and what to get free
The short version: one paid editor covers most of this job, and almost everything else around it can stay free for a long time. Below is which tool to buy first, the free names that are genuinely good enough, and what a full year costs in dirhams.
What the work actually demands from your software
Creator work is four jobs wearing one hat: cutting video, making a thumbnail or a cover, finding footage, music and fonts you are allowed to use, and publishing on a rhythm. Software helps with the first three. The fourth is discipline.
Editing eats the week; everything else takes minutes. So the app you cut in matters more than the rest of the stack combined, and the machine matters more than the app. Export time is decided by your processor, your memory and your drive, not by the name on the software. A more expensive subscription will not rescue a laptop that runs out of memory at the render stage.
- A vertical and a horizontal version of the same cut, usually in one sitting.
- Subtitles in Darija, French or Arabic. Auto-transcription saves real hours, then you fix the names by hand.
- Files a client can open. Brands ask for layered or project files more often than beginners expect.
- Backups that survive a dead drive. Footage is the one thing you cannot download again.
Notice what is missing from that list: nothing here requires the most expensive version of anything.
The one tool to buy first when the budget stretches to one
Straight answer. If most of what you publish is short vertical video, buy CapCut Pro: 700 MAD for one year. If you also make thumbnails, covers and print work, or clients ask you for layered files, buy Adobe Creative Cloud instead: 400 MAD for 4 months, so 1,200 MAD to keep it running a full year (3 × 400).
Do not buy both in the same month. Run one for a whole cycle, finish real projects in it, and only then decide whether the second removes a problem you actually have rather than one you read about.
Be honest with yourself about what the paid tier buys. The free CapCut tier carries a serious workload already, and what Pro adds — effects, some AI features, cloud space — shifts from release to release. Read the current feature list before you pay, not after.
One thing you should know before you send a message: ROSH™ Company Labs is independent and affiliated with no vendor. Not a partner, not an authorised reseller, not certified by anybody. We resell genuine licences at Moroccan prices, and that is the whole relationship.
What you can skip, delay or get free named, because vague advice helps nobody
Most of a creator stack can sit at zero dirhams for a long time, and not as a compromise.
- Editing: DaVinci Resolve. The free version is a complete editor with professional colour grading, installed on your own machine.
- Images and thumbnails: Photopea runs in a browser and opens PSD files. GIMP and Krita install locally. Inkscape covers logos and vectors.
- Motion and 3D: Blender, free, with nothing above it to upsell you.
- Audio: Audacity for cleaning voice-overs, OBS Studio for screen recording and live streams.
- Stock: Pexels, Pixabay, Unsplash. Read the licence on the page you download from — free to download is not the same as free to use in a paid client job.
- Scheduling: Meta Business Suite queues Instagram and Facebook posts at no cost, and most platforms let you schedule natively.
One trap worth naming. A listening subscription such as Apple Music at 50 MAD for 3 months gives you no right to put those recordings under your videos. Use a music library that grants video rights in writing, keep the licence, and note the track in your project folder.
What a working setup costs here in dirhams, with the arithmetic shown
Lean and genuinely workable: CapCut Pro at 700 MAD for the year, everything else from the free list. That is 700 MAD of software for twelve months.
A mixed video-and-design year looks like this. Adobe Creative Cloud at 400 MAD per 4 months is 1,200 MAD for twelve (3 × 400). Add CapCut Pro at 700 and you are at 1,900 MAD. Google AI Pro at 250 MAD per year, for scripting and research, takes it to 2,150. Microsoft 365 at 100 MAD per 3 months is 400 MAD a year (4 × 100) if you write proposals and keep client records. Bitdefender Total Security is 399 MAD a year for five devices. Anything outside that list: contact for pricing.
The inconvenient part. ROSH™ Company Labs is not a formally registered company and issues no tax invoice. If you bill a brand or an agency, or your accountant needs a facture for the expense, nothing bought here will satisfy them — take those items to a registered supplier who can invoice you properly. Purchases here are at your own risk: no guarantee, no refund, no warranty.
A starter kit and an upgrade path in the order that makes sense
- First month, spend nothing. DaVinci Resolve or free CapCut, Photopea, Pexels, Meta Business Suite. Publish ten pieces. You will learn more about what you are missing than any article can tell you.
- Then buy one thing. Whatever cost you the most time in that month. For short-form creators that is usually CapCut Pro at 700 MAD a year; for anyone delivering design files to clients it is Adobe Creative Cloud at 400 MAD for 4 months.
- Add the second only when the work pays for it. A tool a paid job requires is an expense. A tool you might use one day is a subscription you will forget to cancel.
Three upgrade triggers are worth acting on: you turned down paid work because you could not open or deliver a file format, you rebuild the same workaround every week, or a client contract asks you to prove your software is licensed. That last one is a signal to buy directly from the vendor, with paperwork attached.
Whatever you run, back up to an external drive and to cloud storage, switch on two-factor authentication, and keep accounts to yourself. Creator licences are personal, and sharing one usually breaks the terms you agreed to.
Questions creators actually ask
Which tool should I buy first if I can only afford one?
If you publish short vertical video, CapCut Pro at 700 MAD for a year. If you deliver thumbnails, covers or layered files to clients, Adobe Creative Cloud at 400 MAD for 4 months. Buy one, use it for a full cycle on real paid projects, then decide whether the second solves a problem you actually have. Buying both at the start is rarely the right move.
Is the free version of DaVinci Resolve enough for paid client work?
For most editing and colour work, yes. The free version is a complete editor rather than a trial, and it runs on your own machine with no subscription attached. The paid version adds specific effects and hardware features that many creators never reach. In practice your computer and your available hours are the real limits, not the price of the software.
Can I use songs from my Apple Music subscription in my videos?
No. Apple Music at 50 MAD for 3 months is a listening licence for you personally, not permission to publish those recordings inside your own content. Videos that use them can be muted, blocked or demonetised. Use a music library that grants video rights explicitly, keep the licence file with the project, and write the track name in your notes.
Do I get a tax invoice for software bought through ROSH™ Company Labs?
No. ROSH™ Company Labs is not a formally registered company and issues no tax invoice, so nothing bought here can support an expense claim or a company accounting file. If your accountant or your client needs a facture, buy that item from a registered supplier instead. Purchases here are at your own risk, with no guarantee or refund, and ROSH™ Company Labs is affiliated with no vendor.
Over a full year, is Adobe or CapCut cheaper?
CapCut Pro is 700 MAD for one year. Adobe Creative Cloud is 400 MAD for 4 months, which is 1,200 MAD if you keep it for twelve (3 × 400). Adobe therefore costs 500 MAD more across the year. They do different jobs, so the comparison only matters if one of them can genuinely cover your whole workload on its own.
Do I need a paid scheduling tool?
Probably not at the start. Meta Business Suite schedules Instagram and Facebook at no cost, and most platforms now let you queue posts natively. Paid schedulers earn their price when you publish to several platforms every day and need one calendar, approvals and analytics in the same place. Until then, the subscription buys convenience you can supply yourself.
