Is LinkedIn Premium worth it? — who gets their money back, and when free LinkedIn is enough
LinkedIn Premium is worth it when you will actually use what it adds: InMail to people outside your network, insights on the jobs you apply to, unlimited people search, or a separate workspace for prospecting. It is not worth it if your profile is half-finished or your search is passive, because free LinkedIn already lets you apply, set job alerts and tell recruiters you are open to work. Here is how to tell which side you are on, plan by plan.
Is LinkedIn Premium worth it? the short answer, by profile
For an active job search or regular outreach, often yes. For a passive profile, no. LinkedIn Premium is not one product. LinkedIn's help centre lists several paid plans, and four of them matter here: Premium Career for job seekers, Premium Business for professionals who network and sell, Sales Navigator Core for structured prospecting, and Premium Company Page for a business's LinkedIn Page. Each plan answers a different need, so the question only has an answer once you know which plan you mean and what you will do with it.
- Actively applying for jobs, in Casablanca, in Rabat or remotely: Premium Career is worth considering, but only once your profile is complete.
- Freelancer, consultant or founder who researches people and companies every week: Premium Business.
- Seller whose daily work is finding and following B2B buyers: Sales Navigator Core.
- Business whose customers already read LinkedIn: Premium Company Page, on a Page that already publishes.
- Browsing, curious, or with an unfinished profile: stay on free LinkedIn for now.
Two facts belong at the top rather than in the fine print. ROSH™ Company Labs is an independent digital brand in Morocco, not a registered company, and it is not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by LinkedIn. It sells the four plans above for one year each, Premium Career at 599 MAD, Premium Business at 899 MAD, Premium Company Page at 2999 MAD and Sales Navigator Core at 4999 MAD, with no tax invoice, and every order is at the buyer's own risk. If free LinkedIn covers what you need, this page says so plainly.
What free LinkedIn already does more than most people use
Before paying for anything, look at what a basic account already gives you. LinkedIn's own comparison of free and Premium accounts says a basic account can search for and view other members' profiles, request and give recommendations, receive InMail messages without limit, and save up to three searches with weekly alerts. For a job search, the free side goes further than that:
- Search and apply. You can describe the job you want in your own words on the Jobs page, filter by location, date posted, company, experience level and employment type, and apply either with Easy Apply on LinkedIn or on the employer's own site.
- Job alerts. You can keep up to 20 alerts at once, delivered daily or weekly by email, by app notification or both.
- Open to Work. You can tell recruiters you are looking and choose who sees it.
- Job match. LinkedIn says every job seeker can see a match summary of how their profile fits a posting's required and preferred qualifications.
- Messages. You can write directly to your 1st-degree connections, and add a personal note of up to 200 characters to up to three connection requests a month.
- Pages and job posts. A business can run a free LinkedIn Page, and LinkedIn lets a member keep one free job post active at a time.
What free accounts do not get is just as specific. There is no InMail to people outside your network, no LinkedIn Learning, and only a short view of who looked at your profile: LinkedIn shows basic accounts the three most recent viewers from the last 90 days, provided their own viewing setting shows their name and headline. Heavy people-searching also runs into what LinkedIn calls the commercial use limit, a monthly cap on profile searches and browsing that resets on the first of each month. Searching the Jobs page does not count toward it, so a job seeker rarely meets it; a recruiter or a salesperson browsing profiles all day will.
If your real problem is a thin profile or too few applications, a subscription will not fix it. Complete the profile first. Our guide on how to find a job on LinkedIn in Morocco walks through the profile, the filters, the alerts and a weekly routine, all on a free account.
The four plans, one by one who each is for, and what it adds
Everything below comes from LinkedIn's help centre as it reads in September 2026. LinkedIn changes feature names and details over time, so check its plan pages on the day you decide. This is not a star-rated review: there are no ratings or testimonials here, only what each plan does and who it suits.
Premium Career: for job seekers. LinkedIn describes it as the plan that helps you get hired. It adds 5 InMail credits a month for writing to hiring managers and people outside your network; the full list of who viewed your profile, with viewer trends and insights; private browsing that still lets you see your own viewers; applicant insights on job posts, including where you rank among the other applicants; Top Applicant jobs, where LinkedIn estimates you are a strong candidate; AI-powered insights on how well you fit a posting; Profile Writing Assistance and a Message Proofreader; and LinkedIn Learning courses. LinkedIn also says it does not sell individual LinkedIn Learning subscriptions and names Premium Career as the closest option. At ROSH™ Company Labs, LinkedIn Premium Career costs 599 MAD for one year.
Premium Business: for people who network, research and sell. LinkedIn's help centre lists up to 15 InMail messages a month, unlimited search for people and companies without the free account's monthly cap, company insights for research and competitive analysis, a custom button on your profile that sends visitors to a website of your choice, the option to pin featured content to the top of your profile, Profile Writing Assistance, the viewer insights and LinkedIn Learning. LinkedIn's comparison table ticks every Premium Career feature for Business as well, so, going by that table, a job seeker gives up nothing by choosing it; the question is whether the extra reach justifies the higher price. At ROSH™ Company Labs, LinkedIn Premium Business costs 899 MAD for one year.
Sales Navigator Core: for structured B2B prospecting. Sales Navigator is a separate product with its own interface, not a stronger version of Premium. LinkedIn describes Core as its plan for solo prospecting: advanced search filters for leads and accounts, up to 10,000 saved leads and accounts, custom lists, alerts on newsworthy events at the leads and accounts you save, lead profiles and account pages, a Relationship Map for building the circle of buyers inside an account, and 50 InMail credits a month. Team tools such as TeamLink, Smart Links and shared lists are not part of Core. At ROSH™ Company Labs, LinkedIn Sales Navigator Core costs 4999 MAD for one year.
Premium Company Page: for a business's Page, not a person. It upgrades a LinkedIn Page you already run. LinkedIn says only a super admin of that Page can subscribe, that each Page needs its own subscription, and that the plan is being made available gradually, so it may not be offered on your Page yet. The features it lists are: Who's visited my Page; automatic invitations to people who engage with your posts, plus invitations to followers of similar Pages, where a free Page can only invite 1st-degree connections; a custom call-to-action button shown at the top of the Page, beside Page posts in the feed and in search results; a client testimonial; credibility highlights; up to five dynamic cover images; extra service requests; eligibility for Page verification; and a gold LinkedIn logo in the Page header. It is separate from Premium Business, and one member can hold both. At ROSH™ Company Labs, LinkedIn Premium Company Page costs 2999 MAD for one year.
LinkedIn also sells plans that ROSH™ Company Labs does not offer, such as Recruiter Lite for hiring. If recruiting is your daily job, that is the product to look at, not any of the four above.
LinkedIn Premium Career vs Business and the other two plans, side by side
The table sums up what LinkedIn's help centre lists for each plan, with the one-year price at ROSH™ Company Labs in the last row. Read it from the top: the first two rows usually settle the choice before the features do.
| Plan | Premium Career | Premium Business | Sales Navigator Core | Premium Company Page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Built for | Getting hired | Networking, research and selling | Daily B2B prospecting | A business's LinkedIn Page |
| Where it works | Your own profile | Your own profile | A separate Sales Navigator workspace | A Page you administer |
| InMail credits a month | 5 | 15 | 50 | Not part of the plan |
| Profile or Page visitors | Full list of profile viewers, with trends | Full list of profile viewers, with trends | Who viewed your profile included | Who's visited my Page |
| Search | Extra job-search filters and applicant insights | Unlimited people and company search | Advanced lead and account filters, saved leads and alerts | Not a search tool |
| Stand-out tools | Top Applicant jobs, AI job-fit insights, Message Proofreader | Custom profile button, company insights, featured content | Custom lists, Relationship Map, lead and account pages | Custom call-to-action button, auto-invites, testimonial, credibility highlights |
| Try this first, free | Job search, alerts, Easy Apply, Open to Work | Free search within the monthly limit | Up to three saved searches with weekly alerts | A free Page that posts regularly |
| Price at ROSH™ Company Labs, one year | 599 MAD | 899 MAD | 4999 MAD | 2999 MAD |
Two practical notes on InMail, because it is the feature people buy Premium for. No plan gives unlimited InMail. LinkedIn caps how many unused credits you can bank, 15 on Premium Career, 45 on Premium Business and 150 on Sales Navigator, and gives a credit back when the recipient accepts, declines or replies within 90 days. You cannot send a second InMail to someone who has not answered the first, and the balance drops to zero if the subscription is cancelled. Premium InMail credits cannot be spent inside Sales Navigator either, so the two products never share one pool.
If you are torn between Premium and Sales Navigator specifically, our comparison of LinkedIn Premium vs Sales Navigator goes deeper into that choice.
When LinkedIn Premium pays back profile by profile
Job seekers with a real shortlist. Premium Career earns its price when you know which companies you want and can name the people who hire there. InMail lets you write to a hiring manager you are not connected to, and applicant insights show how many people applied and where you stand once a posting has at least three applicants. LinkedIn's Top Applicant section only appears when you rank in the top half of applicants for at least one role with ten or more applicants, so it rewards a profile that already matches the jobs you target. For a graduate in Rabat applying to a handful of engineering firms, or an accountant in Casablanca aiming at a multinational, a few well-aimed messages a month can matter more than a pile of anonymous applications.
Career changers who will study. If you are moving from sales to data, or from teaching to training design, a year of LinkedIn Learning is a reason on its own. When you complete a course, LinkedIn lets you add its certificate and the related skills to your profile, which is where recruiters look.
Freelancers and consultants who prospect. A designer in Marrakech selling to hotels, or a consultant in Tangier chasing clients in Europe, spends real time researching people and companies. Premium Business lifts the free search cap, adds 15 InMail credits a month, puts a button on your profile that points to your portfolio or booking page, and its company insights help you prepare a pitch before the first message.
Salespeople whose job is the pipeline. If you contact new companies every day, Sales Navigator Core is built for that work: saved lead and account lists, alerts when something changes at an account, and 50 InMail credits a month. The honest test is whether your buyers actually use LinkedIn: before paying, check that the decision-makers you want to reach have active, up-to-date profiles. If your buyers are small shops that never open LinkedIn, no filter will find them there.
Recruiters. None of the four plans is a recruiting tool. LinkedIn sells Recruiter Lite for that, and ROSH™ Company Labs does not offer it. A small company hiring once or twice a year can often start with a free job post, which LinkedIn keeps active for up to 14 days before pausing it, with an application limit that LinkedIn says typically ranges from 10 to 30.
Companies with an active Page. Premium Company Page pays back when your Page already posts and people already react. Auto-invites turn those people into followers, the custom button gives every visitor one clear next step, and Who's visited my Page shows which organisations are looking. On a Page that has been silent for a year, a gold logo changes little; start by posting twice a month.
When LinkedIn Premium is not worth it keep your money
Premium does not repair a weak profile, and it does not apply for you. Skip it for now in these cases:
- Your profile is unfinished. No photo, a vague headline, an empty About section: recruiters who open it will leave. Fix that first, for free.
- You are browsing, not applying. Without a list of target roles and companies, the InMail credits simply sit unused.
- You mainly want more people to see your posts. LinkedIn's comparison of plans does not list extra post reach for Premium Career or Premium Business.
- You need a tax invoice. ROSH™ Company Labs issues none. A company that must document the expense should subscribe with LinkedIn directly.
- LinkedIn has restricted your invitations. Paying does not buy more: LinkedIn says invitations cannot be bought or acquired while you are restricted, and that Basic and Premium members are both subject to invitation limits.
- You were hoping for a cheap shared login. LinkedIn's Professional Community Policies tell members not to share their account with anyone. A Premium login passed between several people breaks those rules and puts the account at risk.
How to test LinkedIn Premium before paying the free trial, read carefully
LinkedIn offers a free Premium trial, but not to everyone, and its help centre is precise about the conditions:
- Not every member qualifies. Eligibility depends on several factors, including whether you have used a Premium trial before, and the trial length can vary by region or promotion.
- You must enter a valid credit card to start. LinkedIn also warns that some prepaid cards may not allow recurring billing.
- At the end, the trial turns into a paid plan unless you cancel before it ends. LinkedIn advises cancelling at least one day before the billing date.
- Cancelling a trial ends it immediately, and Premium access stops right away. It also makes you ineligible for another free trial for at least 12 months.
- You cannot switch between Premium plans for free during a trial. Switching ends the original plan's trial and starts billing on the new one.
- LinkedIn emails a reminder before the trial ends if you started it on its desktop site.
The practical way to use a trial is to decide what you will test before you start: a few InMails to real hiring managers, applicant insights on the jobs you are targeting, one LinkedIn Learning course. Start it in a week you can actually use it, and set a reminder two days before the end date. Because cancelling cuts access at once, cancel close to the end rather than on day one, but never on the last day.
If you have already used a trial, or you would rather not attach a card to a subscription that renews, a one-year plan paid once is the alternative. At ROSH™ Company Labs you pay once for the year, in dirhams, through a local method agreed on WhatsApp, and the plan is set up on your own LinkedIn account; renewal is a new conversation rather than an automatic charge. After any order, check on LinkedIn's own subscription screen that the plan is really active; our guide on how to activate LinkedIn Premium shows where to look.
A checklist before you buy answer in order
Answer these honestly and in order. A no means the next step is a free fix or the trial, not a payment.
- Is your profile finished? A photo, a headline that says what you do, an About section, current experience and relevant skills. If not, spend a weekend on it first.
- Can you name what you will use? For example ten hiring managers to write to, a list of target accounts, or a learning path. If you cannot, you would be paying for a badge.
- Which plan matches that use? A job search points to Premium Career, regular networking and research to Premium Business, daily prospecting to Sales Navigator Core, and a company Page to Premium Company Page.
- Have you used the free options? Job alerts, Easy Apply, Open to Work, and personalised invitations to people you know.
- Is a free trial open to you? If LinkedIn offers one, use it on the task from question two.
- Do the terms of this offer suit you? One year, paid once. No tax invoice. An independent seller, not LinkedIn, and purchases at your own risk. If you need an invoice, subscribe with LinkedIn directly.
Verdict worth it for a focused year, not for a badge
LinkedIn Premium is worth it for people who will use its specific tools every week. A job seeker with a target list gets InMail, applicant insights and Top Applicant jobs from Premium Career. A freelancer or founder who researches and writes to people gets more InMail and unlimited search from Premium Business. A seller whose job is the pipeline gets a real prospecting workspace from Sales Navigator Core. A business with an active Page gets auto-invites, a call-to-action button and visitor insight from Premium Company Page.
It is not worth it for an unfinished profile, a passive search, a wish for more post reach, or a company that needs a tax invoice. In those cases, free LinkedIn and a better profile will do more than any subscription.
When you are ready, the prices at ROSH™ Company Labs are fixed: Premium Career at 599 MAD, Premium Business at 899 MAD, Premium Company Page at 2999 MAD and Sales Navigator Core at 4999 MAD, each for one year, ordered on WhatsApp and paid locally, whether you work from Casablanca, Agadir, Fès or anywhere else in Morocco. LinkedIn and its product names belong to LinkedIn Corporation and appear here only to describe the plans.
Questions people ask about LinkedIn Premium
Is LinkedIn Premium worth it for job seekers?
It can be, if you are actively applying. Premium Career adds 5 InMail credits a month, applicant insights on job posts, Top Applicant jobs and LinkedIn Learning. Those help most when you have a list of target companies and a finished profile. If you are only browsing, the free tools, job alerts, Easy Apply and Open to Work, cover what you need until your search becomes focused.
What is the difference between LinkedIn Premium Career and Business?
Premium Career is built for getting hired, with 5 InMail credits a month. Premium Business is built for networking and selling, with 15 InMail credits, unlimited people and company search, company insights and a custom button on your profile. LinkedIn's comparison table ticks the Career job-seeker features for Business too. At ROSH™ Company Labs, Career is 599 MAD and Business is 899 MAD for one year.
Can I apply for jobs with a free LinkedIn account?
Yes. A basic account can search the Jobs page, apply with Easy Apply or on the employer's own site, keep up to 20 job alerts and turn on Open to Work. LinkedIn also shows every job seeker a match summary against a posting's qualifications. What free accounts lack is InMail, the full list of profile viewers, applicant rankings and LinkedIn Learning.
Can I try LinkedIn Premium for free?
Often, but not always. LinkedIn offers free trials to eligible members, eligibility depends on factors such as whether you used a trial before, and a valid credit card is required. The trial becomes a paid plan unless you cancel before it ends, and cancelling ends access immediately. After cancelling a trial, LinkedIn says you cannot start another for at least 12 months.
Is Sales Navigator part of LinkedIn Premium?
No. Sales Navigator is a separate product with its own workspace. Core, its plan for solo prospecting, gives advanced lead and account search, up to 10,000 saved leads and accounts, custom lists, alerts and 50 InMail credits a month. It suits people whose daily work is B2B prospecting. At ROSH™ Company Labs, Sales Navigator Core costs 4999 MAD for one year.
Who can buy LinkedIn Premium Company Page?
Only a super admin of an existing LinkedIn Page can subscribe, and LinkedIn is making the plan available gradually, so it may not be offered on your Page yet. Each Page needs its own subscription, and it is separate from Premium Business. It adds auto-invites, a custom call-to-action button, a client testimonial and visitor insight. At ROSH™ Company Labs it costs 2999 MAD for one year.
Is ROSH™ Company Labs affiliated with LinkedIn?
No. ROSH™ Company Labs is an independent digital brand in Morocco, not a registered company, and it is not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by LinkedIn. It sells one-year plans at fixed prices, sets them up on your own LinkedIn account and replies on WhatsApp within 24 hours. No tax invoice is issued, and every purchase is at your own risk.
What happens when a Premium plan ends?
Your account returns to a basic one, and LinkedIn says you keep your profile, connections and data. You lose the Premium features, including banked InMail credits, the full list of profile viewers, extra insights on job posts, LinkedIn Learning access and unlimited people browsing. If a course matters to you, finish it before the end date and add its certificate to your profile.
